Chermside Probus Club celebrates 25th Anniversary

Chermside Probus Club turned 25 this year with seventeen Foundation Members still with the club and enjoying meetings and activities, although a couple are now close to retiring from the Club.

As part of the 25th Anniversary, which coincided with the Clubs Annual General Meeting, Management decided to surprise all of the members with a completely free morning, to celebrate this important day in their evolution calendar.

The Club decided it was time to honour their surviving Foundation members, and all these members were presented with a framed Certificate with their photo and a list of the names of the current surviving Foundation Members.  This came as a pleasant surprise to them all.

The Club also provided an Anniversary cake which was cut by the oldest Foundation Member present, just turned 90 years old Jack O’Brien, and he was suitably impressed.

It is pleasing to see the club has enrolled enough younger members prepared to accept roles on the Management and other Committees to allow the Club to continue into the foreseeable future, and still look forward to recruiting even more “youngsters” to replace the ageing “old guard”.
