A day on the green

The Probus Club of Nowra recently organised a combined sports day at the Callala RSL Country Club. Invitations were sent to clubs in the Shoalhaven district. The organisers were very pleased to see more than 146 Probians in attendance. The initial downpour of rain did not dampen spirits, and thankfully the clouds moved away and the day turned out bright and sunny.

The sporty Probians played nine-hole Ambrose golf, bowls, putting golf and bocce. The Combined Probus Club of St George’s Basin won the Vic Levitt Shield, along with some serious bragging rights. Last year’s winner Noel Schneider from Shoalhaven Heads presented the trophy to the St George’s Basin golfers.

Everyone enjoyed a picnic style luncheon prepared by the Probus Club of Nowra. After the raffle draw of meat vouchers, the prizes for golf, bowls, putting and bocce were presented. It was a great day of networking, fun and laughs.
