Feeling froggy

At Broadbeach Ladies’ Probus Club’s recent meeting the guest speaker was Red Frogs Australia founder Andy Gourley.

It all started in 1997 when the then youth pastor at Citipointe Church hit Schoolies Week on the Gold Coast with his skateboarding mates.

Their volunteers act as the eyes and ears in accommodation venues and out on the streets, providing a positive peer presence to the school leavers.

The Red Frog Crew not only hand out frogs during Schoolies, but they also assist the school leavers in many different ways, offering room visits and games, room cleans and emotional support, walk homes and of course put on some epic pancake cook-ups to keep school leavers fed and to build trust and rapport.

Thanks to the Broadbeach Ladies, the Red Frogs Crew have plenty of pancake shakers on hand for lots of cook-ups this coming Schoolies!å
