Hobart Macquarie Probus enjoy Lawn Bowls

A number of enthusiastic Hobart Macquarie Probus Club members travelled to the Kingborough Bowls and Community Club (KBCC) at Margate.

They experienced fun, friendship and fellowship with a number of members of the KBCC.

They were introduced to, and participated in, Lawn Bowls familiarisation and training in the magnificent undercover rinks. Here the hosts provided expert tuition to their members in the skills of Lawn Bowls, even learning to recognize the “bias” of the bowls.

And there was a lot of concentration, bending and kneeling involved, together with walking the 20 plus metres to the end of the rink, many times, between turns. Those who did not bowl sat on the side lines enjoying the environment and becoming part of the day.

After the conclusion of the bowling exercise, all members retired to the Club Dining Room where they enjoyed a BBQ, salads and accompanying food prepared by the ladies of KBCC.

KBCC really enjoyed the company of Hobart Macquarie Probus members and look forward to a follow up day.
