A combined away trip to Yarrawonga

A combined away trip to Yarrawonga in Victoria was undertaken by Conder-Lanyon and Greenway Probus Clubs from the ACT.

The trip is a very popular excursion taken by many clubs and organisations from all over Australia. It is well known as the “Linga Longa in Yarrawonga” tour. Besides Yarrawonga, the tour included many surrounding locations including Bright, Beechworth, Echuca, Koonoomoo, Wangaratta, Eurobin, Wandiligong, & Myrtleford among a host of other places too numerous to mention.

The trip culminated in a participation by members of both clubs in the re-enactment of Ned Kelly’s trial in the Beechworth Courthouse. Scripts, props and garments were provided by the historian at the courthouse to try and display some sense of realism to the occasion. All Probus club members who took part in this iconic event are now breathing a sigh of relief that photos of their escapades have not been included in this submission.

A wonderful time was had by everyone over the six day duration of this trip and we firmly believe that everyone has got to know each other far more with the experience.

A big thank you to Alan & Sheree at the Central Motel in Yarrawonga for making this trip such a memorable experience.
