The Story of our Club
Originating in the United Kingdom in 1965, Probus is now a world-wide movement across twenty three countries; it is a community serviceactivity of Rotary Clubs. New Zealand joined the Probus ranks in 1974, Australia in 1976 and our club was formed in 1989.
The Ladies Probus Club of Blackburn South began in August 1989. Claire Wilkinson was our first President.
Meetings were first held in the Nunadwading Horticulture Centre, then later at the Blackburn Manchester Unity Hall. Since January 1998 we have been meeting in the Fellowship Centre of The Avenue Uniting Church, Blackburn.
We meet every third Tuesday of the month from 10.00 to 12 noon.
New members are always welcome and can contact the President Louise Harradine on 0402 014 133.
