APRIL 2017:  Jungle in Willunga - A visit to a garden nursery in Willunga, featuring some rather exotic plants.

FEBRUARY 2017: THE FLEURIEU MILK COMPANY, MYPONGA

On this fascinating outing we saw a company that works like an independent co-operative of dairy farmers in the Myponga area. We followed the process from arrival of the whole product, separation of cream and milk and creation of flavoured milks, low-fat, skim and whole milks, cream and yoghurts, with some sampling! We came away with a much clearer understanding of the issues facing dairy farmers and the effects of the  huge supermarket chains nationally on profitability and viability of the industry, and new respect for a local group that we can support, and help create a sound and growing business in an industry facing difficult times.

MARCH 2017: ENCOUNTER COAST SPIRITS and IRREVERENT KITCHEN, Cartwright Road, Victor Harbor.

28 of our members visited Charlie and his team where they run a distillery that produces vodkas, gins and several liqueurs, as well as a range of condiments. The condiments feature native and conventional fruits and all are gluten-free and preservative-free. The sampling was fun!!
