An enriching meeting

Over 40 members of the Ladies’ Probus Club of the Southern Vales celebrated Probus Day back in October.

The guest speaker on the day was Hon Leon Bignell, MP, State Member for Mawson. He spoke about issues in the local area which were of particular interest to the ladies.

Kangaroo Island, which was severely impacted by the bushfires of 2020, forms part of his electorate. He talked of the devastation, and the very positive outcome of his rescuing of a Kelpie puppy from a farm which was destroyed.

Dusty travels to many of Leon’s engagements, and members were fortunate to meet him on the day.

In recognition of Probus Day members acknowledged the importance of belonging to such an organisation and the Fun, Friendship and Fellowship it brings to their lives.

The meeting concluded with a celebratory lunch.
