PROBUS ASSOCIATION OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF PROBUS IN AUSTRALIA

It has been a very busy week for the members of the Probus Association of WA Inc (PAWA). We were privileged to have the CEO of Probus South Pacific Ltd, Silvana Martignago and Chairman, Douglas Geekie visit Western Australia as part of the celebration of 40 years of Probus in Australia.
On Tuesday afternoon, August 30th the PAWA committee met Silvana and Douglas, Winston and Judy Marsh, Ed Reed and Murray McNally for an informal luncheon at Piney Lakes. This enabled much discussion on the direction of Probus in Australia in general, and in Western Australian in particular.
On Wednesday, 31st August PAWA celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Probus in Australia with a Gala Past Presidents luncheon at the Royal Perth Golf Club in South Perth. All Probus members in Western Australia were invited to this luncheon, and it was pleasing that 184 Probians supported PAWA by attending.
Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC Governor of Western Australia was our guest. She spoke of her involvement as Patron of our organization. She was very knowledgeable about Probus. We learnt that her mother had been a Probian for many years. She mixed with those present, mingling as long as time permitted.
Silvana Martignago CEO and Douglas Geekie Chairman of Probus South Pacific Ltd also attended and met with many local Probians.
The PAWA Committee, and particularly Elizabeth, Darrell, Rex and Betty are congratulated on a fantastic function that was enjoyed by all present.
