Berowra District Mixed Probus 20th Anniversary Party

On 3rd November, Berowra District Mixed Probus celebrated their 20th Anniversary. An Anniversary Party was held at Club Berowra, on November 4th, where guest of honour was the Mayor of Hornsby Shire, the Honorable Philip Ruddock AO.  Other guests included former Presidents and Life Members.

Members were encouraged to get into the party mood by wearing fashions from the 1960’s.  Many acted on this suggestion and the hall was alive with Elvis, Tina Turner, and many hippies, along with those more conservatively dressed.

Keith Carson, founding President, and Brian Engert OAM cut the beautiful Birthday cake, after Keith had given a potted history of the Club which was formed by Berowra Rotary Club in 2003.

Over the years it is believed that over 300 members have been involved with this Probus group which has a limit of 140 active members. During the evening photographs and videos were screened of various activities such as ocean cruises, excursions to other parts of Australia and local activities such as bush walking and ten pin bowling.  This was much to the delight of the many foundation members, who enjoyed glimpses of themselves 20 years younger.
