The Northam Probus Club took a “Mystery Trip” earlier in the year using the Shire bus.

The group went through the countryside looking at crops, an eagle’s nest, the new solar panel plant, until they arrived at Meckering, 130km east of Perth. There they had morning tea at Colton’s Beef Jerky Cafe and superb fresh scones with drinks followed by a talk from the proprietor on the making of his jerky.

They went onto Cunderdin, where they went to the viewpoint that looks out over the countryside. It was an outstanding site; the wildflowers were in abundance. The group then went to the Ettamogah Pub for lunch.
