Rambling on

“The Ramblers” is a walking group and one of eight interest groups of the Victor Harbor / Granite Island Probus Club.

During these quiet months they have not been able to head out on their monthly rambles into bushland and on coastal walking trails within the top South Australian tourist region, the beautiful and scenic Fleurieu Peninsula. The Ramblers usually meet on the first Wednesday of each month.

From April this year the convenor of the group is Graham Burton. When the walks recommenced in June and the second in July, there were upwards of 20 members ready to set off on the trails. In June, they headed along the Heysen Trail to Halls Creek (tributary of the Inman River), and in July the ramble took in the recently opened scenic Myponga Reservoir walking trail.

During the walks, the group stops and enjoys their packed lunch, or they call in at a local bakery, and then resume their trek to the destination – all keeping a safe distance from each other during these times. Enjoying the fellowship while observing nature along the way make for a very enjoyable day out – while being active.
