Sound the bell

The Combined Probus Club of Attadale recently enjoyed a most informative visit to the Anzac Centenary Bell situated in the Perth Bell Tower.

Cast in Perth, the Anzac Centenary Bell weighs 6,500kg and is the largest bell ever made in Australia. It is a memorial to the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women involved in wars and peacekeeping operations around the world.

Installed in the Perth Bell Tower in October 2018, the Anzac Centenary Bell was rung officially for the first time on the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day, 11 November, shortly after 11am.

Members of the group were invited to participate in the unique experience of ringing the bells and were delighted to receive a bell chiming certificate and an Anzac Bell medallion.

The Anzac Centenary Bell is rung every day at 12pm.
