35th Birthday Meeting of the Probus Club of Tea Tree Gully Inc.

106 members, invited guests and visitors celebrated with the Probus Club of Tea Tree Gully on Monday the 4th of February 2019 when they enjoyed their 35th Birthday meeting.

President Dean Vice individually welcomed, invited guests including, Mr Peter Perkins - Rotary District 9500 Probus Chairperson, Doctor Richard Harvey MP - Member for Newland, Mr Kevin Knight - Mayor of the City of Tea Tree Gully, plus members of the Rotary Club of Tea Tree Gully, members of local Probus Clubs, and eleven general visitors who may very well be members of Probus in the near future.

Some of the highlights of the day were - two new members were inducted into the Probus Club of Tea Tree Gully, and
RDPC Peter Perkins presented a 35-year Certificate to the club, which was accepted by President Dean on behalf of all club members.

During the General Meeting, all invited guests and members of the Police Band of South Australia (Entertainers for the day) received a gift of a pack of pears each, which were donated by Past President Harry Drury, who for the last 28 years has donated fruit to the club at each meeting for gifts and raffles, and which the club greatly appreciates.

At the conclusion of the General Meeting, members and visitors were entertained by the Dixie Band of the Police Band of South Australia. This group of six highly trained and talented performers had their audience toe tapping and hand clapping for the whole hour they performed and concluded by playing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the Probus Club of Tea Tree Gully.

It was then on to cut the birthday cake when two of the club’s longest-serving members, Mr. Nev Butler and Mr. Harry Drury who are Past Presidents and who both joined the club in its first year, had the honour of making the first cut. Light refreshments were provided by club members and enjoyed by all.
