Foundation member receives 35 year membership certificate

Foundation member of the Probus Club of Attadale, Perth, Les Skelton, born in 1923, received his 35-year membership certificate in a ceremony that emphasised his life of service. He flew 30 missions with Bomber Command in Europe, surviving where more than half did not.

A successful career and dedicated community service has marked his life. He served 33 years with the Rotary Club of Cockburn, was Rotary district chairman for more than a decade, and received a Rotary Paul Harris fellowship award and two Rotary citations of honour.
Despite his considerable Rotary commitments, Les has a fine record of attendance at his Probus Club meetings, where again his compassion for others has always been exemplified by his constant pleas for stamp donations that ultimately help those in need. Les is still a welcome and familiar figure at Club meetings, thanks to his wife Audrey.
