Speakers Program – 2011

January: Our breakfast talk was by Margaret Piper about her involvement  in  the Pets as Therapy  Scheme – visiting Allowah Presbyterian Children’s Hospital with her dog Toby.

February: Ian McLeod introduced us to the ancient science  of  beekeeping  starting with methods used by the Romans.

March: Marie Palmer from the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust gave us a history of the Trust plus a photographic tour of Trust sites.

April: Member,  Ken Mitchell told us about Cobb and Co between 1853 and 1929/

May: Dr. Graeme Watts told us about his 30 year involvement with sport for people with a disability..

June: Marlene Hickin  explained her theories on the effect of a mother-figure in our lives

July: Faye Yarroll, recipient of  bilateral Cochlea  implants explained the  wonderful benefits she has experienced.

August: John Dengate will entertain with Australian Poetry and songs

September: Jim Holland will  remind us of the importance of doing it properly when he talks about “Driving for Seniors”

October: Member Spencer Bough  introduces  us to the History of the Art Gallery

November: Member Rod Roberts  will take us “Back to the Depression” with ‘Bread and Dripping’

December: No Speaker required for Christmas Lunch

January: David London will speak to us about Conservation of Mawson's Hut in Antartica .
