Deepdene Combined Probus Club was chartered in July 2014 with Jill Groom as inaugural president.    

Our sponsor Rotary club was the Rotary Club of Glenferrie which had also set up Auburn (Vic) Combined Probus Inc. some 12 years or so previously.   Auburn had grown to the point where it had around 160 members on its books at which time Glenferrie decided to expand that club no further and to sponsor a new club (Deepdene).   As a past president of Glenferrie Jill Groom was charged with setting up the new Deepdene club.

Initial membership was around 40 and it has stayed close to that level all of its existence.
