A Brief History
Formed in May 1990, the Probus Club of Ettalong Inc held its inaugural meeting at 9:30am on 20th June, 1990 at Ettalong Bowling Club.
The general meetings have continued to be held at this time on the third Wednesday of the month at Ettalong Bowling Club ever since .
There are currently 113 active members of this club.
Originally formed as a men’s club, in 2013 the club took the decision to formally accept ladies as full members. Sixteen (16) of the ladies who joined on 10th April 2013 are still current members of the club and two (2) are non-active members.
There have been many special occasions over the years including the celebration of past President Eric Tweedale’s 100th birthday in May 2021. On his passing in 2023, Eric was the oldest living Wallaby aged 102. We also had past President & Secretary Ken Lummis’ 50 years of service to the community award in March 2023.
