Monday 18th OR Thursday 21st August (nominate your date on the sign-up list)From Asian shops to restaurants and places of interest, there is no place like Cabramatta, a place where all cultures blend so harmoniously. You can visit Vietnam, China, Singapore, Laos, Thailand – all in one day. Join me on a guided walk through the streets and arcades, sampling some of the tasty food, the bustling atmosphere, and lots of opportunities to buy some wonderful food and everything else you can think of! I have really enjoyed researching this trip for you, with my friend Kim’s valuable suggestions. I hope you share my enthusiasm too!

1st September 2025 - GUIDED TOUR of LUCAS HEIGHTS NUCLEAR FACILITY (ANSTO)
Monday 1st September Approx. 9am – 3pm
This 2 1⁄2 hr tour (not all walking!) commencing with a short talk in the Discovery Centre, then boarding a small coach to visit other areas on the site. It is customised for retiree groups, with plain language and easywalking. It will explain how knowledge of the building blocks of our universe helps to solve the big issuessurrounding health, climate change, and innovation for industry. Sounds fascinating!We will follow the tour with lunch at the venue café, serving hot meals for $15, or lighter snacks.I will book a coach but cannot give a cost until I have an indication of numbers interested.Cost $15.00 entry + coach cost (to be advised). Located within a 33-hectare site on the North Head of Manly is the Q Station which once served as the Quarantine Station for migrants arriving by sea into Australia.As Australia’s longest continuously operating quarantine station, the buildings reflect a rich history, highlighting historical themes of gender, race and class. Thousands of carved sandstone engravings record the diverse cultural and social backgrounds as well as varying experiences of the quarantined passengers.
