PROBUS CLUB BEGINNINGS IN MARGARET RIVER
A meeting was held at the Freycinet Motel on November 30th, 1994 by Rotary Club of Margaret River to form a Probus Club in Margaret River.
President Bob Hayward chaired the meeting which was attended by 18 prospective members.
Probus, for retired people to meet and enjoy outings with no fund-raising allowed. It was $15 to join, including a name badge.
A Committee of 10 was formed, consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Outings Organiser, Bulletin, Guest Speaker organiser, Trading table organiser and Welfare Officer.
25 Members attended the first Probus meeting at the Freycinet Motel.

The Probus Club now, in 2019, meets at the Uniting Church, Tingle Avenue, Margaret River on the second Monday of the month from February to November; a Christmas lunch is held in December instead of a meeting.
