The Club began in 1991, sponsored by the Moe Rotary Club.

Chas Robertson was the Moe Rotary Community Development officer and Ross Maxwell, as Secretary, asked Chas to form the Club.

Chas called the first meeting in February 1991 to decide if there was enough interest to establish the Club. Letters had been sent out to a group of people that Moe Rotary thought might be interested in joining. No doubt Chas also spoke to people around town. Some people received phone calls. Only men were invited and the Morwell Club which formed in 1985, sent a representative to speak to the meeting and give advice. Chas chaired the meeting. They agreed to form a club and at the first meeting decided both males and females could join.

It has met at a variety of venues, usually selected on the basis of whether or not the membership could fit in the venue.

It grew to over 120 members by the early 2000s but current membership is 35.
