        Activities & Guest Speakers for 2025

Planned activities to help achieve the goals of fun, friendship in retirement are an important part of the Probus Club of Newmarket. An Activities Officer co-ordinates club members’ activities usually held on the fourth Wednesday of the month.  While being flexible, a draft program is prepared for each year.

July

• Guest Speaker Wednesday 9th - "Early days in Mackay" Judith Lawrie

• Wednesday 23rd : Free Guided Tour of the Brisbane Synagogue with Lunch in the City.

August

• Guest Speaker Wednesday 20th : The Verandah Band will entertain us for our Birthday. 

• Wednesday 27^th : Happy 20^th  Newmarket Probus Club Luncheon, at Arana Hills Leagues Club  

September

• Guest Speaker  Wednesday 10th - "Broken to Brilliant", a talk on domestic violence by Andrea Miller who is the Director of Broken to Brilliant

• Wednesday 24th : Bus Trip to Toowoomba for the Carnival of Flowers, Details re morning tea and lunch TBA

October

• Guest Speaker Wednesday 8th - "The History of the Electric Car" - John Miller.

November

• Guest Speaker Wednesday 12th - A Talk on Ethiopia - Barbara Eastoe

There are also special interest groups who organise their own activities.  Currently there is a walking group, a book club and a Sunday lunch group who meet at venues suggested by members. More details of these groups are outlined in the club Newsletter.
