The Probus Club movement began in England in 1965 through people connected with the Rotary movement, and has now spread to many countries throughout the world. New Probus Clubs are still sponsored by the Rotary Club, and in Australia are accredited to Probus South Pacific Limited, which provides a range of services to local clubs including insurance and travel services.

The primary intention of Probus is to meet the needs of those people who are retired or no longer working full time, and who are looking to enjoy retirement with like-minded people.

It’s an opportunity for active retirees to participate in social interaction and activities, expand interests and enjoy new friendships.

The Combined Probus Club of Wantirna Heights was established in 2004 and meets monthly on the first Wednesday (except January) from 10am to 12 noon, with a short business session followed by a guest speaker and the opportunity of lunch together. In between the monthly meetings there are trips and outings and a range of other activities.

We currently have 67 members and have an upper limit of 90 members due mainly to the size of our meeting facilities.  We are a mixed club and our ratio of women to men is approximately 60% women to 40% men.

Our membership fee is $40.00 per annum and there is a joining fee of $20.00

We welcome visitors to our meetings so if you would like to come along please call our Membership Officer Michael Sawyers on 0439 551 209.
