Off the road again

Have you ever considered driving along some of Australia’s lesser-known tracks? Active Retirees reviews the new Navman Drive Duo SUV.

Satellite navigators in cars have always been good for getting you around the city. But what about when you want to holiday somewhere more remote? The new Navman Drive Duo SUV is a navigational map and high quality dashboard camera all in one.

Make tracks

The Drive Duo is not only great for recording and tracking your journey; with just a few touches of the screen, you can have access to hundreds of thousands of kilometres of four-wheel driving tracks.

Not just GPS

As well as the usual functions found in a GPS navigator, the Drive Duo has a range of features designed to enhance your driving experience. These include dashboard cameras, or ‘dashcams’, that constantly capture footage from the inside of your car. A high quality camera faces the windscreen and captures

your on- and off-road adventures. This can be useful in the event of a crash, as it can provide your insurance company with information to determine who was at fault. The Drive Duo also contains technology that can measure the direction an impact came from.

Drive ‘n’ dine

The Drive Duo contains over 14,250 off-road destinations and 123,000 kilometres of off-road tracks to explore, giving you extensive options for a weekend in the bush. But it doesn’t just take you to the middle of nowhere; the Drive Duo also comes equipped with an extensive restaurant guide that can help guide you to the nearest dining locations.

Safety first

The Drive Duo has a stack of helpful safety features, including hazard alerts and Large Vehicle Assist. This allows you to input the type of vehicle you’re driving, and whether you have anything tied down or being towed. It takes all this into account, including the current traffic situation, and gives you the best route for you and your vehicle.
