Current Club Activities

Do you like singing? Why not join the combined Probus men’s and ladies’ choir that performs at various venues, including Senior Citizens’ Clubs, Aged Care Homes and Probus Club functions? Practices are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at St. Brigid’s Church Hall (corner of Ryrie and High Streets in Healesville) from 1.00pm – 2.30pm. The repertoire of songs is pertinent to the audiences and best of all – there are no auditions! Just an enjoyment of singing.

Further information can be obtained from Rudi Hoenen on 5962 5823.

Fishing A fishing expedition

Anyone interested in fishing would be very welcome to join the current band of intrepid men who travel far and wide in search of that elusive catch. Their motto could very well be “there’s always next time”.

Attempts are usually made on the first Tuesday of the month - except when it is a public holiday, in which case it’s the day after.

Further information can be obtained from Keith Matson on 5962 4993.

Music appreciation (this group is temporarily inactive)

Do you enjoy listening to music? Do you have any favourite type of music? Why not share it with others in the music appreciation group that meets on the 2nd Monday of each month from 2pm to 4 pm at St. Brigid's Hall (corner Ryrie and High Streets, Healesville)? The idea is to join others and spend a relaxing couple of hours listening to their and your favourite music. Each month's program is selected by a different member and ranges from theatre shows, light classics to classics and whatever takes the presenter’s fancy. A contribution of $5 covers afternoon tea.

Theatre visits

Theatre outings generally take in some of the fine productions at The Athenaeum Theatre in Lilydale. Four shows are usually performed each year and details can be found at

More information can be obtained from Ron Crowley on 5962 6394.

Walkers enjoying a break.Walking Groups

There are currently two walking groups in the Club – “Bushwalkers” and “Sundowners”. The Bushwalkers group do slightly more extensive walks, generally lasting around 4-5 hours while the Sundowners group caters for those who may prefer something a little shorter and easier.

Both groups usually do their walks on the 4th Thursday of the month, usually commencing at Coronation Park. The Bushwalkers meet  at 9.00am. Sundowners' walks depend on the number of participants and the coordinator (see below) needs to be contacted first.

Note: starting times and places may vary from month to month, so check with the respective contact before you turn up at the Park.

Further information can be obtained from Alan Jones on 5962 2113 (Bushwalkers) and Noel Steele on 9730 2931 (Sundowners).
