About Ascot Probus
(Brisbane)
Established in 2005, The Probus Club of Ascot provides opportunities for Fun, Fellowship and Friendship for retired and semi-retired men and women in the community.
We meet on the third Wednesday of each month (except December) from 10:00 am at the St Colomb's Centre, 23 Victoria Street Clayfield.
Our meetings include club business, a guest speaker and a morning tea with the opportunity for socializing. The range of guest speakers covers many and varied topics.
A club outing is usually organised for the fourth Wednesday of each month. These vary in nature and many are full day trips with a bus to places of interest while others are shorter. These have included theatre visits and exhibitions. A tour of several days is usually arranged each year.
Other activities include a regular Card afternoon playing 500, a Movie Group, and the Gentleman's Coffee Group.
A Christmas lunch is held early in December. A Christmas in July is held also. Both of these functions are very popular.
