Combined Probus Club of Camden Haven, Inc.

Our Club

The Combined Probus Club of Camden Haven was formed in December 2003 in Laurieton on the beautiful Mid North Coast of New South Wales, just under halfway between Sydney and Brisbane.

Our club meets monthly at 10:15am on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Laurieton United Services Club (LUSC).  Visitors are most welcome to attend our club meetings and we would be delighted if after maybe a couple of meetings, they decided to become members of our club by asking our Membership Officer for application forms.  Our club meetings are usually about 2 hours long and include reports from various committee members on matters of administration, finance, social planning and membership.  When these reports are completed, we have morning tea for about 30 minutes to allow members some fellowship time and then we have our guest speaker’s presentation.  After the meeting, we have lunch, alternating monthly between the LUSC Dining Room and various local restaurants.

The Social Co-ordinator explains in his or her report what outings are planned for the current month and generally the 2 months following to allow members to sequence their other appointments correctly.  Ordinarily, we have our outings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Club outings have included BBQs, picnics, lunches, dinners, river cruises, short bus trips, long bus trips, car trials and 5-7 day self-drive trips to the Gold Coast in Queensland to see Outback Spectacular performances (https://www.outbackspectacular.com.au/).  We also have a Canasta group who meet weekly on Saturdays.

Our club also has an arrangement with Players Theatre in Port Macquarie (https://www.playerstheatre.org.au) to attend the final performance of each production. The theatre has 5 to 6 productions a year and brings wonderful variety to the stage in Port Macquarie, including drama, comedy, musical and pantomime.

Please look at our Newsletter, Haven Happenings on following pages for planned activities in the future.  The Newsletter is kept up-to-date by monthly revisions.

Please contact us should you need any further information, we will be pleased to help.
