We are an active, 15 year old Probus Club of some 45+ friendly retirees. We take the Fun, Friendship and Fellowship of Probus seriously, and have as much of it as possible. Our club differs somewhat from others because we conduct very little “business” at our meetings - its mostly fun. No minutes, no financials, only the occasional decisions put to the vote. Even our AGM takes just 10 minutes. Yet the transparency of management is still there, and members’ feedback and suggestions are canvassed and welcome.
We do not fundraise, are non-religious and are apolitical. We believe in the four Fs - Fun, Fellowship, Friendship and Food!
Monthly meetings, with a guest speaker, are at 9.30am on the third Thursday of the month, at the Newnham Hotel, Newnham Rd. Upper Mt Gravatt, (except the Christmas meeting). Meetings finish around 11.30 a.m., occasionally followed by lunch in the hotel bistro, for those who wish to participate.
Between meetings we have several activities each month, sometimes jointly with neighbouring Probus clubs. To check out some of the activies we have read the lists in our newsletters.
New members welcome. No need to book, just come and visit with us at any of our meetings at the Newnham Hotel, or at our monthly coffee and chat time at 10.30 am on the first Sunday of each month. Coffee and Chat is at the Pacific Golf Club in Carindale (except New Years Day) when it is on the second Sunday. Check us out!
