PRESIDENT'S PREAMBLE

 

We know that Friendship Fellowship and Fun are what Probus is all about.

And for many, that means not only attending our monthly meetings but also participating in a range of activities and occasional outings. Socialising is an important part of the Probus

experience, and the Probus Club of Karori hosts several monthly interest groups. We believe

that through meeting in this way, in addition to our regular monthly meetings, we get to know each other better.

From time to time your committee seeks to ensure that the range of activities available is

meeting the needs of our members, and catering for all tastes and capabilities. Of course, hearing from the members themselves is an important part of the process.

So, have we got it about right with what we are doing, or should we be doing anything

different? This is your chance to tell us.

To this end, we would like to survey Club members to seek any further ideas as to what

interests you may have in regard to activities and outings. Therefore, a simple online survey will be emailed to you shortly after the June meeting. Please do complete this as soon as you are able to. For those who do not have easy access to a computer, there will also be paper copies of the survey available at the June meeting.

Not only are your suggestions for interest groups most welcome, but your committee would be delighted if members are prepared to offer to lead an activity group in which you have an

interest. It need not be a group that meets every month, but could just be on an occasional

basis, or even a short pop-up season. As an example, we would be pleased to be able to

restart the theatre group if there is sufficient interest and if a Club member is able to assume a leadership role.
