NEPEAN RIVERLANDS PROBUS CLUB  –  A BRIEF HISTORY.

The Nepean Riverlands Probus Club was formally chartered by The Rotary Club of Penrith on the 14th of May 2003 with 122 members, which rose to 150 by its first A.G.M.

Our Club held its first meeting at the Nepean Rowing Club, Bruce Neale Drive, on the banks of the Nepean River in Penrith, and have since continued to hold all our meetings, plus other functions there. Over the years we have had 8 female and 10 male Presidents which shows the collaboration within our Club.

As a member of Nepean Riverlands Probus Club we are also members of ‘The Rowers’, and after our Club meetings, which are held on the second Wednesday of each month, many members and visitors stay to enjoy lunch, whilst admiring the Nepean River.

Nepean Riverlands Probus is a mixed Club with a member’s mainly residing in the local and surrounding areas. Even after 18 years, we still have more than 20 of the original or Foundation members still active in the Club. And although we have a limit of 160 members, we are always looking to welcome new members.

Probus Club membership is open to retired persons who are looking for an active social club, and in the years since our inception, the NPRC has held numerous overseas trips, cruises, interstate & NSW holidays, along with numerous day outings, walks, parties, and lunches, etc.
