The club’s committee
Each year, the club elects a committee of up to 16 members. All club members are encouraged to take their turn in helping to run their club. In addition to the president, secretary, treasurer, public officer and membership roles, the committee has positions to manage roles such as catering, speakers, newsletter, welfare, travel and activities.
The history of our club
The club was initiated by Rotary Club of Northbridge in 1998 at a meeting in Northbridge Uniting Church hall. The club was incorporated in 1999 and its first meeting held on April 19 that year. The inaugural president was David Synnott and secretary was Pat Gray.
The club has always been named Combined Probus Club of Northbridge and been a club for both men and women. All its meetings have been held at Northbridge Golf Club.
The club’s maximum membership was originally set at 100 but was increased to 140 in 2012 when the Men’s Probus Club of Northbridge ceased activities and its membership joined our club. It is currently set at 125, to comfortable fit the venue's capacity.
