September 2021 Trip to Kangaroo Island

14 members of the Unley Probus Club visited Kangaroo Island for the annual Getaway.  It began with choppy seas for the crossing to the island.  Once there, members began with a tour of Clifford’s Honey Farm, then the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil distillery.  Next day was a visit to Seal Bay, getting close to the Seals, followed by an experience with Birds of Prey, including holding the birds, and then those brave enough had the opportunity to hold pythons and lizards. Day three started with a drive to Emu Bay, followed by a visit to the Lavender Farm, with morning tea of huge lavender scones and then to Stokes Bay for a whiting lunch.  Now sustained, members visited Flinders Chase National Park for a visit to Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.  The final day as busy as ever, began with a visit to Cape Willoughby Lighthouse, then to Dudley Wines for lunch and lastly to Pennington Bay for a sheep shearing experience. Later that day members embarked on the ferry for the return journey to Adelaide.  It was an enjoyable, busy and interest filled experience.

Coordinators Brian Ross and Graham Rattley provided a full program of fun and enjoyment for some 46 members and guests.

A boat cruise was one of the highlights of our getaway.

A number of our members participated in the Probus club's 5 day bus trip to Bright.

For 2017  a group celebrated Christmas in July on a 4 day cruise on the paddle steamer Murray Princess from 24 - 28 July. A fun filled trip and a great opportunity to share "Christmas" with fellow members.
