Welcome!
Hello and welcome to the Ballarat Ladies Probus Club website.
We hope you stay a while, popping in and out of our pages getting a feel for what we are all about at the BLPC.
Firstly, the concept of Probus is to provide retired people the opportunity to meet regularly without demands or obligations and at minimum cost, in circumstances that provide new interests and new friends.
Probus clubs are autonomous and simple in structure; and it is emphasised that they are non-politcal, non-sectarian and non-fund-raising. In our case we are ladies only. Our club began more than 30 years ago with the basic purpose to provide regular gatherings for women who, in retirement, appreciate and value opportunities to meet others of a similar level of interest. You'll read more about that on our "history" page.
Ultimately the BLPC is about enjoying fellowship, friendship, and fun. There is an ever expanding wide-range of activities on offer. At the moment these include cafe catch-ups, the walking group, scrabble afternoons, musical and theatre trips, book clubs, historical talks and guest speakers, and some things we have not even thought of yet!
