Coach Outing Group

This is a new Activity Group that the Committee has agreed to in order to accomodate the many requests we have had from Members that they would like to see more Coach Outings. To start off with we will try and arrange bi-monthly outings to different places and also look at maybe doing overnight trips. 

If any of our Members have suggestions about suitable Trips for our Club please contact Chris Shirbin who is the Activities Group Co-Ordinator either by email  or mobile. Details are available on the Office Bearers page.

 

Our planned for outings in 2020 are:

Thursday March 12th  Leaving Castle Hill Bowling Club at 8.45am and returning approximately 4.30pm.

A trip to Palm Beach exploring the Northern Beaches on our way and then the ferry from Palm Beach to Bobbin Head we will be served morning tea on the ferry followed by a delicious BBQ with dessert, glass of wine and tea and coffee on our arrival at Bobbin Head. The followed in the afternoon with a tour of the National Park's wildlife centre where we will be able to see some of the native animals in their natural habitat. Approx cost $85pp. EFT 43902

Friday 22nd May 

Come and enjoy a day out at the lovely village of Berry in the Shoalhaven District of the South Coast of New South Wales.

Amble along Queen Street, Albert Street and Old Creamery Lane, and browse for   locally made gourmet products, sweet treats, regional wines and collectables. Stop by the Berry Sourdough Cafe for wood-fired pastries and coffee. At the Treat Factory, see how they make chocolates and confectionery.

Pick up delicious cinnamon doughnuts from the Berry Donut van, a local institution found on Queen Street.

Have Lunch at Berry in one of the many cafes at own expense.

We will be returning via Kiama to see the Blowhole and enjoy the spectacular views of the coastline before returning to Castle Hill.

The cost of this outing will be $40pp payable by the May Meeting.  EFT 43973

We will be leaving from Castle Hill Bowling Club at 8am and returning at approximately 5pm.

 

Thursday 30th July -  Tour of Sir William Dobell’s House at  Wangi Wangi followed by lunch at the Valentine Bowling Club.

Situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie is the National Heritage listed Dobell House, the home and studio of the late Sir William Dobell, one of Australia’s most famous painters. The home and its contents offer a unique experience of the life and work of Wangi’s “Gentle Genius”.

Cost  approx. $70pp this includes Morning Tea and Lunch with a fully guided tour of the House.

Leaves Castle Hill Bowling Club at 8.30am and returns at 5pm.

 

Tuesday 22nd September - Trip to Gosford, to visit one of the best traditional Japanese Gardens in Australia. Adopting the principles of Japanese design from700AD to 1700AD, the garden reflects the spiritual philosophies of the East.Stroll through waterfalls, pavilions,oriental bridges and Koi pavilion. Then nearby is the GosfordCity Arts Centre. We will have lunch at Tuggerah Lakes MemorialClub. Afterwards travel to Toukley Gardens - pretty landscaped gardens and the Norah Heads Lighthouse for breathtaking views. Cost approx $50 - $65 depending on numbers.

Thursday 12th November  Luncheon Cruise on the Nepean Belle Paddlewheeler and tour of surrounding area.

Wednesday 2nd/Thursday3rd December Overnight to Hunter Valley Gardens for the Xmas Lights, this will include a trip to a winery, cheese tasting and luinch at Lake Macquaire on the return trip.
