Walking Group

Tuesday 10th Septembe

Northmead and Toongabbie Creeks  (Pemulwuy Loop)

This walk is about 6 kms and till take about 2 hours, including a BYO morning tea break and toilet stop at Third Settlement Reserve.  (Why is it called Third Settlement Reserve?)

A easy bush and creek track with some sections on footpaths.  We pass through Northmead, Toongabbie and Winston Hills.  The scenery we have in our own neighbouring suburbs is amazing.  You will experience Bell Birds, huge trees, an old sandstone quarry, levee banks, an original flag stone creek crossing, sandstone walls and caves, together with some interesting early history of the Toongabbie area.  (What are the levee banks for?)

MEETING PLACE: Corner of Allambie Ave and Moxhams Road, Northmead.
Note: You can’t make a right hand turn off Windsor Road.
