BALLARAT TROTS NIGHT MARCH 25TH 2021

The night at Bray Raceway Ballarat got off to  a flying start at 3pm when 47 people aboard the Christians coach ,  left the City Bowls Club carpark for Bray raceway.

We travelled via Winchelsea, Shelford, Mt Mercer and Buninyong and took in the cropping farms and the Wind Farm Turbines at Mt Mercer along the way. Our driver provided information about various places en route which made the trip more interesting.

Five raffles were conducted during the trip which provided the winners with $20 cash prize.

The people on board were kept very busy as they filled in info for an Insurance register and a Covid information form for the Ballarat District Trotting Association .

Tickets for the night were given to each participant @ 5pm   at Bray raceway. Everyone had to hand in their ticket as well as their Covid information form to the officials before going up to the Terrace Restaurant in readiness for the nights action.

There were 9 events on the card for us to make a profit on the night.

Entrée was served at 6.45 followed by alternate servings of lamb and chicken. Then sweets and a cup of tea or coffee.

There were a few winning punters over the evening however I would estimate more losers.

We had the restaurant pretty much to ourselves and the crowd was not big enough for the trotting club to conduct a punters club which disappointed some of our people. There was much studying of the form and socializing during the evening with everyone seemingly enjoying the night.

At around 10.30pm , we  boarded our coach and we headed for home. It was a pretty quiet trip to Colac and just before the Colac Ballarat Road roundabout ,President Stewart thanked  our driver Peter for getting us there and back safely and everyone for making the night enjoyable.

The coach arrived home @ 11.40 pm.
