Members were saddened to hear of the passing of Rob on Christmas day. Rob became a member of Pakenham East Probus in October 2007. He quickly endeared himself to all to members of our Club.

Rob was a loving husband of Carol, father of Geoff and Gavin and Grandfather to his 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Rob was a pillar to his community, a quiet achiever, and a legend. Throughout his life he had been awarded many honours, Apprentice of the Year, this award is presented to an individual who is undertak-ing an apprenticeship and has been outstanding in all aspects of their training., The inaugural winner of the Stan Henwood Award for long term community service and Cardinia Shire Senior Citizen of the Year. Both Rob and Carol are affectionately known as Mr & Mrs Officer. Rob was talented sportsman playing both football and cricket and coaching with the ROC football club and played VFL for Hawthorn. He was plumber extraordi-naire, and his mantra was “why put off ‘til tomorrow what can be done today”.

Devoting his spare time to improving his community being on several committees. He was the Master of Ceremonies of the annual ANZAC Day service held at the Memorial Gates at his beloved Sports Ground where he spent many volunteer hours maintaining the oval.

Rob will be missed by all who knew him, and the community will sadden by his passing.
