Club Activities

The Club meets on a monthly basis to provide fellowship and hear a guest speaker address the meeting on a topical or interesting subject. Members and guests are welcome to stay after the meeting to continue socialising and join us for lunch at Cazalys (at own cost).

A number of times per year the Club visit places of interest and you will be advised in advanced with place, time and relevant information at the Monthly meeting or via the Newsletter.

The Club facilitates a number of Special Interest Groups:

 · Dining out at local venues is planned monthly, generally for lunch with the occasional dinner.   This is usually the fourth Thursday of the month (the week after our meeting)

· Gardening enthusiasts join with the Darwin Probus Club's Gardeners  Group on the second  Wednesday of the month at 10.30am. Venues are notified in advance.

. Golf  is on each Monday during the Dry Season with all four local Probus Clubs participating.  Golf Club Venues include the Palmerston Golf Club, Marrara Golf Club and Gardens Park Golf Club. Gathering time is  8.30am for an 8.45am tee off. (A few intrepid members play through the wet season also.)

. Mini Golf is on the last Monday of the month (weather permitting during the Wet Season) at Palmerston Golf and Country Club - 6.00pm for a meal (if you wish) followed by 18 holes of mini-golf from 7.00pm

· The Literature group meets on the fourth Monay each month at 10.00am in the Electrol Office of the Member for Blain (Oasis Shopping Centre). If you are interested, please ask for further details at a monthly meeting.

. Morning Tea is held at 10.00am on the first Thursday each month at different locations around our region. Upcoming venues are announced at the monthly Meeting and in the Newsletter.

· Movie day is the second Tuesday of each month at Event Cinemas (while times depend on the film, members often gather for a coffee before the movie at about 9.30am and stay for lunch afterwards).

. Outings and Tours are arranged reglarly for half day or full day outings including lunch. The occasional outing with one or two overnight stays are generally arranged in conjunction with the other local Probus Clubs. Interstate and overseas trips are arranged when there are sufficient numbers to make a booking worthwhile. (The latter trips may be in conjunction with the other local Probus Clubs - and include members from two or more of them.)

· Trivia Night is on the first Wednesday of each month, meeting at 6.00pm for dinner and then 7.00pm for the Trivia Quiz at Cazalys.

Where other local Probus Clubs organise a joint activity, the details will be advised in advance at the monthly meeting and through the Newsletter
