Seacliff Probus Club established 27th February 2020

We are a new combined club - women and men welcome - in our second year with about 50 members and average age of 71. All Members must be retired, or at least semi-retired.

If you are considering Probus, then try us.

We offer fun, friendship and fellowship through the following:

 * Outings & Activities event on 1st Thursday of each month

* General Meetings on 4th Thursday of each month

* Interest Groups are currently being established and will meet when those in the group wish

* Our monthly Newsletter

* Probus Certificate, badge, booklet and other benefits (see PSPL website)

* Our Committee meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

We would like to invite you to be a part of the Seacliff Probus Club’s journey. If you are looking for new friends and experiences, then why not join us – the Probus Club of Seacliff. We meet to develop friendships with fellow retirees. We meet each month to mix with each other and hear stimulating speakers. We go on well organised and varied outings each month. We have several interest groups currently developing. We would like you to be a part of this journey. Come along as a guest and experience an enjoyable morning.

General Meeting Arrangements

We upstairs meet at the Seacliff Brighton Yacht Club. Our General Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month.  Meetings start at 10am with most arriving 10-15 minutes before.

When people arrive at a General Meeting our Membership Officer (Lorraine) will be at a table near the entrance and she will take your details (name, phone & email - these are mandatory requirments for insurance and if we need to contact you) and make a name badge before asking someone to introduce you to Members as we mingle before the meeting starts.

The General Meeting is 2 hours long with about 40 minutes of Agenda items, then 20 minute morning tea, then a guest speaker for 1 hour. At the General Meeting we invite Members, Visitors and Guests to lunch at the Surf Life Saving Club next door. If you decide to come to lunch you pay as you order. Lunch can take up to 2 hours.

What Happens if You Can't Decide About Us

If you need more than one meeting to decide about joining us, you are welcome to come along with up to 3 visits at no cost as a Visitor.  You can become a Member sooner as this does not affect the amount you will pay or when your next annual subscription will be due.

After 3 visits Probus South Pacific Limited (PSPL) require you to make a decision to join, or not.  The cost of being a Member is a once off Membership Administration Fee of $30 and a $60 Annual Fee (ie at joining $90). The General Meetings are free with Outings & Activities charged at cost.

The 3 visits (should you need that many to decide) includes any Outings & Activities, but you will still need to pay the individual event cost as Members do and subject to the particular event demand.

The Newsletter, Meeting Schedule and Minutes have a lot more about us so take a look at those pages.

We are certain you will find some likeminded Members and enjoy being with us.

Thinking of Coming Along

If you are not a Member of Probus and thinking of coming along and meeting us, all we ask is that you contact one of the people below before the meeting so we can look out for you and be ready to welcome you as a Visitor to our meeting.
