RIVERBOAT POSTMAN’S CRUISE ON THE HAWKESBURY RIVER Date: Thursday, 16th May 2024 The Riverboat Postman’s Cruise will be a full day outing. You will need to meet at Thirroul Railway Station to catch the 7.09am train to Central Station, change there to Platform 7 for the 8.45am train to Brooklyn. There will be a short walk from Brooklyn Station to the Riverboat Postman wharf, leaving at 10am for a 3-hour cruise. Morning tea and a ploughman’s lunch is part of the cruise. Gluten free and vegetarian meals will be provided if required. Cost: $55 per person and this will need to be deposited into the Club’s account by 2nd April, no later. Guided tour of Garden IslandA date has been booked for a guided tour of the working naval base at Garden Island. Cost of the 1.5 hour tour is $30 per head. As there is walking and some stairs involved in the tour, a reasonable degree of mobility is required.The tour is limited to 25 people. Numbers on the tour must be finalised around 2 weeks prior with names provided to enable security passes to be arranged. We will be meeting the guide at the entrance to Garden Island at 9:45am in order to be checked through the Department of Defence security. Optional lunch after the tour before heading home by public transport. When: 6th June 2024 Participants names need to be confirmed to the Garden Island Historical Society by the 22nd of May 2024. |
