CHRISTMAS IN JULY LUNCH, HALLIDAYS POINT TAVERN, TUESDAY, 4th JULY 2023

36 members enjoyed a roast dinner at Hallidays Point Tavern commencing at 12noon to celebrate Christmas-in-July. The outing, including the food, was enjoyed by all.

        

VALLEY INDUSTRIES, TAREE, NURSERY & FACTORY TOUR, TUESDAY, 16th MAY 2023

Tour of Valley Industries, 16 Members participated. Heidi, their Communications Officer, supplied Safety Jackets and introduced us to Staff in the Factory. Then supplied Morning Tea and Lunch in the Board Room.

BBQ & BOULES, BLACK HEAD RESERVE, TUESDAY, 9th MAY 2023 

   

Barbeque and Boules enjoyed by 19 Members, very cold day. Thanks to Bob and Jill Keenan, and Beryl Littlewood for organizing. Graham Lane is our new Champion. Wes Tiller came second. Bob Dent introduced us to his corn bags and boards with a hole in.  Kay and John Clucas excelled and were very competitive.

LINGA LONGA AT YARRAWONGA, 22nd-28th April 2023

Yarrawonga 7 days 6 nights, was attended by 8 members and 2 guests. Morning teas, admission to venues and some evening meals were included. Attractions included Red Stag Deer Farm, re-enactment Ned Kelly’s last stand, paddle-steamer cruise Port of Echuca, paddle steamer on Lake Mulwala.

   

MYALL LAKES SENIORS FREE CONCERTS 2023

10:30am or 2:00pm, Monday, 6th March 2023 at Club Forster Auditorium, AND

10:30am or 2:00pm, Tuesday, 7th March 2023 at Club Taree Auditorium.

Activities Officer Jill Keenan obtained 20 tickets for members for the 2:00pm performance on 6th March at Forster, some of whch had to be returned. Members could make their own bookings through either venue.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH, COOPERNOOK HOTEL, TUESDAY, 6th DECEMBER 2022

Bookings were taken at the 1st November meeting for this annual lunch at $20 per person.  Many members and guests took advantage of the Halliday Shores bus at $5 per person. The lunch consisted of a very-well prepared and presented two-meat alternative-drop roast dinner and traditional Christmas desserts. An enjoyable time was had by all, with departing attendees extending Christmas wishes to each other. Pictures follow.

LINGA LONGA TOUR, YARRAWONGA VICTORIA, 6th-12th NOVEMBER, 2022

Activities Officer Jill Keenan led the 6-day Yarrawonga Tour at $995 per person. 35 members had enjoyed a similar trip some 9 years ago and 2 are doing it again. 9 members attended. Coach picked up at Black Head. Dinner and overnight in Sydney were extra. Tour leader Jill writes: 'Yarrawonga Tour a huge success. Hallidays Point Probus group won First Prize in Trivia Competition. Captain Mary Marshall won 'Sharp as a Tack' award, how appropriate!' Some pictures follow.

Barbecue & Boules was a successful day. Thanks to our friends who joined together for fun, food and exercise. Congratulations to everyone who competed. Kay Clucas was the winner - she knocked out Graham Lane's final boule to claim the Dolphin Trophy. 21 members attended. Good comments regarding enhancement of Menu.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY, NABIAC HOTEL, TUESDAY, 5th JULY 2022 

X'mas in July was be held on 5th July at Nabiac Hotel. All were welcomed for fun and food after our meeting. Cost was $26.50 per person. Thanks to those members who brought table decorations that added immense value to the atmosphere of the luncheon.

   

BBQ & BOULES, BLACK HEAD RESERVE, TUESDAY, 17th MAY 2022

16 members joined Helen Bush, assisted by Allan Buckingham and Bob Keenan, at 12 noon for another BBQ & Boules at Black Head Reserve. After the BBQ lunch, several very competitive rounds of Boules were played, with two previous winners reaching the final - Mavis Coles and Marg Lock. Cherilyn Leckner also took part, but new member Russell Smith was too good for them all, taking out the Dolphin Trophy, shown below being awarded by 2021 winner, Marg Lock. Thanks to all helpers and other attendees for a great day out.

   

  

HASTINGS RIVER CRUISE, PORT MACQUARIE, TUESDAY, 10th MAY 2022

‘Seniors and Retirees Big Day Out' with Port Adventure Cruises was enjoyed by 38 members and guests on the vessel of the same name; viz. MV Port Adventure. The cruise departed Town Wharf at Port at 12 noon with a total of 90 passengers on board, included lunch and entertainment by the Cruise Director, Tom Cruise, and returned at 3pm. Beryl Littlewood was the star of the Millionaire Hotseat segment and won the second-to-the-top prize! As well as enjoying the scenery provided by the river environment, those who attended were taken through a series of trivia quizzes and several games of Bingo, all with attractive prizes! Tom also put on a colourful series of Elvis covers. All agreed it was a very enjoyable day out. Thanks to Marilyn Ewin for putting this outing together and delivering it in fine form.
