Welcome to our CLUB web site, we hope you will enjoy reading about our Club.

Probus is an Association for active members of the community who are no longer working full time, or are retired.

Probus originated in the UK in 1965. The first New Zealand clubs were formed in 1974 and then in Australia in 1976.

Probus has filled a need for today's active retirees. It is now a world wide movement in over 26 countries.

Probus South Pacific Limited (PSPL) is the administration and service centre for the Probus Clubs in Australia and New Zealand.

Probus is a non fundraising club which focuses on Fun, Fellowship and Friendship.

The Jamestown and District Probus Club Inc.  was established on February 14th 1995. There were 18 people present and eight visitors. By August of that year the membership had grown to 98 with a waiting list of 15.

Our Club number is 50011 District C.

We operate under the Probus South Pacific Constitution and have our own Standing Resolutions.

Our meetings were held at the Belalie Hotel (lounge area) and a few years ago we relocted to the Commercial Hotel.

Membership fees are a one of joining fee of $20.00. and an annual fee of $20.00, also at each meeting $5.00 is charged for the morning tea
