Occasionally the monthly club meetings can be routine and predictable.  They were less so in November this year.

The meeting opened with a collection of horse racing related songs, rendered by a choir assembled specially for the event and ably acompanied by Barbara, our pianist.

Note the appropriate dress and especially the hats.  Even the singing was good.

Members were enccouraged to wear suitable Melbourne Cup headgear and the ladies definitely entered the spirit of the day. A hat parade was followed by an award presentation.

The more formal aspects of the meeting were enlivened by several of the reports on Probus group activities being accompanied by suitable witticisms and anecdotes.

After morning coffee, we were entertained by an interesting presentation by Keiron Long from the Australian Racing Museum - a nice end to a fun meeting.

The writer hastens to add that there were no streakers at the meeting.
