Today’s speaker is Jeffrey Deslandes – He will be

speaking about cancer and the trialling of vaccine therapy

PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR MOBILE PHONE

BIRTHDAYS:  Happy birthday wishes for June are extended to Vija McLaughlin 11th, Terhy Jones 16th, June Witheridge 20th, Ann Nicoll 22nd, and Gerti’s is on the 24th. Hope your birthdays turn out to be fabulous ladies.

SICKIES:          Susan has been very unwell for the past few weeks; maybe had a reaction to the flu injection, who knows; hurry up and get better soon Susan. Gertie has been in hospital with breathing problems, she has been in intensive care for a few days. We wish you a speedy recovery Gertie.

Outings report for May:

Our outing to the Chocolate Grove and the Sands Hotel were both very enjoyable. Unfortunately, only nine of our ladies came to help the Seaford Club out with their numbers. I thought the talk on the history side of the visit was very enjoyable; so enjoyable in fact I have got his details and given them to our President Joan for her to get in touch with him later as a speaker. As an extra bonus, from the last 150 years there were innumerable displays of a variety of chocolate gift boxes and chocolate bar wrappers, (so many I can’t remember!): the displays of boxes etc dealt with all those companies that had the guts to go into business back in the 1800’s into the new century. Thank the Lord they did.

JUNE 2023

15 Jun              Coffee Morning – coffee and a chat about future coffee mornings – Some ideas for

future coffee mornings are pizza lunch, soup kitchen,

$2 pop-up shop, fashion show, Pop-up Pancake Shop mobile caravan.

 Any other ideas please?

22 Jun              Lunch at the Seaford RSL – Make your way to the Seaford RSL for midday lunch. The RSL is

situated in the main street of Seaford, just near the railway crossing. Take your own car and

see if someone will share the ride with you.  Seaford RSL has a nice menu and there’s a very

pleasant atmosphere as well. There’s no trouble parking the car, just across the road from

the RSL is the Seaford Railway Station car park.  BOARD OUT

5th Thurs          An explanation is needed here for our new members.

(See next page):

A normal month is 4 weeks, usually  - you know that I know you know that! However

sometimes there’s an extra week slotted in to make the calendar work, making it a five-

week month!  This used to give us a chance to have a rest and give us the time to attend to

appointments etc and all the other things that we’ve haven’t had time to do. However

we’ve decided to organise the odd outing, picnic, “whatever”  on this day to give you

something to look forward to. You are not required to attend this outing, it’s only been

organized because so many of our ladies have mentioned that they hate it when there’s a

fifth Thursday because they say it’s two weeks before they see their friends again!

                        So, here it is:

29 Jun              Mr. Frank’s Café:  Coffee & Chat – from 10 am onwards. The café’s address is 1st Floor,

5TH Thurs         101 Wells Street, Frankston, opposite SouthEast Water (beach side of the highway).

There’s an escalator to take you to the first floor.

There are floor to ceiling windows which offer a beautiful view of Frankston and the bay, so

why don’t you come along, catch up with your “mates”, enjoy a coffee, enjoy a chat, all the

time enjoying a “room with a view”?   BOARD OUT

JULY 2023

13 Jul             Speaker: Trudy Land will talk about Mental Health.

20 Jul             Coffee Morning – Coffee and a chat – ideas!

27 Jul             Our 39th Anniversary Lunch is being held at Steeples Hotel, Mornington. This is a very

important date in the annals of Frankston Ladies Probus Club Inc, as we were amongst one

of the first ladies Clubs to be inducted. Considering how few Clubs there were at the time

we were very lucky to get a Rotary Club to sponsor us, and to still be going after 38 years is

quite an achievement and deserves to be celebrated.  BOARD OUT

AUGUST 2023

10 Aug           Speaker: Trudy Land will demonstrate using a defibrillator and how to do CPR.

17 Aug           Coffee Morning – coffee and a chat. Ideas on the way???

24 Aug           Ambulance Museum, Bayswater – pick up bus 9.30am at the Village cinemas car park,

Karingal Hub, to get to museum by 10.00am. Take a guided tour of the museum, leave

to go to Bayswater Hotel for lunch at own cost. Approximate cost $35.00 plus bus. For the

moment Bayswater Hotel is a work in progress as we are looking for a hotel a weeny bit

closer to home.     BOARD OUT

31 Aug             Fifth Thursday – Ducky Brown Café, Gateway, Langwarrin shopping centre; See Board for

                        details.

SEPTEMBER 2023

14 Sep            Speaker: A return talk by Cliff Hardy. We got such as positive vibe after his last visit that we

thought we’d get him again to talk on another subject.  So, this time his talk will be “Dolly’s

                       War Diary”.

21 Sep            Coffee Morning – coffee and a chat utilising our new ideas!!

28 Sep            Linda’s Lacies, 6 Klauer Street, Seaford, 9782 5955. Own vehicles (please share with those

who don ‘t drive). Be at Linda’s from 10.30am on for fittings and a lovely morning tea (so

I’ve been told). NOW, PLEASE BE AWARE:

If you put your name down you must attend. Linda’s Lacies brings in extra fitters to

accommodate the number of expected customers (as per the names on the attendance

sheet): they have to be paid for their time. If the expected customers don’t turn up, then

that is an expense that Linda’s business will incur.

SO DON’T PUT YOUR NAME DOWN IF YOU’RE JUST THINKING ABOUT IT

After the fittings (and the giggling), we’ll then go on to Seaford Pub for lunch –just up the road at the

lights. Always a good meal.   BOARD OUT
