Thursday, 19th June: 9.30 a.m. for 10.00 a.m. Teralba Park, Everton Park. A light morning Tea before the Sausage Sizzle lunch at Teralba Park. Try your sporting prowess with some games in the park. BYO chair, thermos and cups for drinks. Cost is $5.00, payable by 5th June. Lead: June Sakjewski. Help needed with morning tea and barbeque.
Sunday, 22nd June: 2.00 p.m. Growl Theatre production of "The Servant of Two Masters" by Carlo Goldoni. The play is about the hilarious complications wrought by the servant of Traffaldino when he gets employment with two different people at the same time. Register for lunch before the play at the Crown Hotel, Lutwyche at 12 noon. Lunch is at own cost. Cost for theatre is $15.00. Book and pay by Thursday, 29th May. Lead: Judy Catts.
July 2025
Friday, 11th July to Sunday 13th July: Train trip to the Queensland Garden Show in Nambour. Use your Translink pass to travel to Nambour, connecting with a free shuttle bus at Nambour Station to the Showgrounds entrance gate. Go to www.qld.gardenshow.com.au for further information about what's on and a map of the grounds. Entry fee at own cost: Adult - $26.50 online/$29.00 at gate. Concession - $23.50 online/$25.00 at gate. Show is open from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Lead: Jeanette Mills.
Thursday, 17th July: Club Birthday Lunch at Aspley Bowls Club. Cost $50.00 for 2 course lunch, drinks at own cost. Break out your flowered shirts, dresses, shorts, leis and grass skirts. Pin those hibiscus flowers behind the ears for this year's Hawaiian theme party. Bookings and final payment due by 4th July. Lead: Linda Lawes.
August 2025
Thursday, 21st August: 10.00 a.m. for 10.30 a.m. start - QPAC "Behind the Scenes" Tour and lunch at Storytellers Cafe. This backstage tour of the QPAC complex will cover the history, architecture and vibrant performing arts culture of this icon. Tours are tailored each week depending on the shows being hosted by the theatres. Cost is $18.00 (Concession), lunch at own cost. Book and pay by Thursday 7th August. Meeting point is on the ground floor - in the lounge area near the bar. Tour duration- 1.5 hours.
September 2025
Thursday, 18th September: 8.30 a.m. Bus trip to North Stradbroke Island. Bus leaves from Gaythorne Bowls Club, crosses Moreton Bay Marine National Park on the car ferry to Dunwich and then does the scenic tour to Point Lookout and Cylinder Bay. Spend time at Gorges Boardwalk where the clear waters make it easy to spot marine life including turtles, dolphins and manta ray. And it it still whale watching season! After lunch, visit the Stradbroke Island Historical Museum. Cost is $120.00 (30 - 40 passengers) or $116.00 (41 -49 passengers). This includes morning tea, lunch, ferry and touring. Thursday, 9th October: 10.00 a.m. QIMR Berghofer Group Tour _ Medical Research Institute, Herston. Join the free tour of this world-leading medical research institute that seeks to discover and deliver better treatments and diagnoses for some of the world's deadliest diseases. Morning tea included. Maximum group - 20. Duration 10.00 a.m. to 11.45 a.m. Wear closed in shoes. No wheelie walkers allowed in the laboratories. Meeting point is Reception at 300 Herston Road, Herston. Bookings close Thursday, 2nd October to enable names to be provided to the Security Team at QIMR.
