Gloucester and Barrington Tops

A great time was enjoyed by all. We were blessed with lovely weather particularly on our ocean excursion.

We of course started with a group discussion of our trip thus far with the Bucketts and Mograni ranges in the background. Some light refreshments were required prior to dinner.

Our visit to the herb farm was very interesting, we met Max with Tha Axe and enjoyed a wonderful morning tea of fresh scones with jam and cream plus a variety of cakes.

Beautiful mountain streams and wombat holes were part of the scenery

We stopped for lunch at Polblu Swamp picnic area where we enjoyed a a substantial BBQ and some of the members took a 3km walk around the swamp area.

The view from the lookout was simply spectacular.

Our visit to the Mountain Maid gold mine was a real trip into the past.

Our last morning was a delightful trip out through the heads at Forster. We had barely left the wharf when a dolphin passed us by then less than a km out we encountered whales with their calves returning from the north. Some put on quite a show for us.

This was followed by a sumptuous picnic lunch replete with Wallis Lake oysters, luscious prawns and fresh salads.
