Eight writers met on Friday 14th November to share stories based on the prompt 'A Place to Live'. A new member of the Probus Club, Jan Thurley, was welcomed and provided information relatingto her interest and background in writing. All of the stories reflected individual experiences, but the focus of each work differed. There was a description of life in an aged care residence, a comfortable existence but seen by few as 'a home'. There was the dilemma for one member of the benefits and drawbacks of dividing time between Australia and England, with particular advantages in each location. One writer described the numerous moves over a lifetime of seeking for her dream home, while others described lengthy periods in one location. The moves to accommodate 'downsizing' was the focus of one experience. The discussion was lively, including the very topical subject of AI - particularly the use of 'Chat GPT'.
